This is an unusual start but this is a big web site and we do not wish you to find that we cannot accept your booking after you have spent time reading about us. Are you mentioned below?

Smoking Inside.

Nobody has ever smoked in this building and that is the way we intend to remain. You may smoke in the garden but not indoors.

Hen / Stag Nights.

We accept and enjoy ‘Same sex groups’, but to ensure our guest’s comfort we regret we cannot accommodate Stag or immature Hen parties.

Young Children.

Increasingly we are attracting guests who are escaping from children, either their own or those they teach, nurse or lecture. Therefore we only accept toddlers with adult parent(s). Well behaved children over 5 years of age are also welcome.

Pets.

Numerous York guesthouses accept pets – we do not. We love animals but we would not stay in a hotel bedroom that had previously been occupied by dogs and cats.

Additional Needs.

We have made the building as friendly as we could but we very much regret that we are not suitable if you use a wheelchair 100% because the fire doors are very robust and we do not have a wet room or ‘grab rails’.
